    MyDyson™


    The MyDyson™ app can be used to manage and control your machines from your smart devices, such as smartphones and Apple Watches.
    The MyDyson™ app can also be used to find out more about your non-smart devices, including guides, support and troubleshooting.


    The MyDyson™ app collects:

    • Login information, such as your email address and password.
    • Information about your device, such as operating system, device brand and usage analytics data.
    • Product performance data.
    • Cookie data. See our cookie notice for more information.  
    The MyDyson™ app uses the data to:
    • Secure your app account so only you can access it.
    • Keep the app running smoothly by informing us of any issues.
    • Provide you with in-app content relevant to you and your Dyson machine.
    • Deliver relevant push notifications relating to the performance of your Dyson smart machine, if you have consented for us to do so.

    Dyson uses a number of third parties to help us provide services to you. For example, we use third-party cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud to securely store your account information and login details.

    We also share your data with third parties where you have asked us to. For example, where you connect the app to a voice assistant, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Siri.

     

    Smart purifiers - the Dyson pure range 


    The Dyson purifiers and purifier humidifiers monitor the air quality in the room it is situated. Data from your machine is used to provide you with an accurate picture of the air quality breakdown in your home.  We may share your data with third parties who support us by providing services to you. For example, usage data may be used by third-party affiliate companies in Dyson markets where repair and maintenance services are outsourced. This only happens when you connect your smart product to the MyDyson™ App. See our privacy notice for further information.  

     Lighting


    Our lighting range uses Bluetooth® to connect to the MyDyson™ app, unlike our other products which use Wi-fi. The MyDyson™ app allows you to create lighting profiles that collects additional data such as your age and location. We use information about your age and location to determine the right colour and brightness for your eyes.  We may share your data with third parties who support us by providing services to you. For example, usage data may be used by third-party affiliate companies in Dyson markets where repair and maintenance services are outsourced.     Dyson robot vacuums


    Dyson Robots use their 360° vision system to navigate your home.


    Dyson 360 Eye™ robot uses its Infra-Red (IR) sensors to create a map of the area it has cleaned, each time it cleans. So it knows where it has yet to cover. 


    Dyson 360 Heurist™ robot vacuum Heurist uses its sensors to create a map of your home. This allows you to customise which zones of your home the Robot vacuums, what power mode to use in each and if there are areas it should avoid.  

    Images from the camera stay on your machine, and are not accessed by Dyson. 

    Mapping data from your cleans is securely sent to the MyDyson™ app, so you can see where the Robot vacuum has cleaned. 

    The map is securely stored on the MyDyson™ app, so that you can adjust and customise it.

    Dyson Zone™



    Dyson Zone™ noise-cancelling headphones delivers high-fidelity audio and air purification.

    Using built-in microphones, it detects and monitors noise levels you have been exposed to by picking up surround sounds to allow users to cancel unwanted noise using advanced noise cancellation and ultra-low distortion technology. 

    Dyson Zone™ also uses sensors to detect and monitor your air quality exposure by capturing city pollution, including gas, allergens and particulate matter, and projects purified air to the user through a non-contact visor. 

    Using Bluetooth 5.0, you can connect your Dyson Zone™ to the My Dyson app. 

    When you pair your Dyson Zone™ with the My Dyson app, if you have consented us to do so, we collect the following information: 

    • Dyson Zone™ Data, including historical usage performance data, such as Air Quality (NO2), internal and external noise exposure.
    • Using location services on your mobile device allows the location of your Dyson Zone™ to be synchronised with your MyDyson app if you have consented us to do so.
    Data from your Dyson Zone™ is used to:
    • Provide insights on the level of noise pollution you have been exposed to;
    • Provide insights on the level of air quality pollutants you have been exposed to;
    • Help us to improve our products and your experience of the Dyson Zone™;
    • Send you tailored notifications if you have consented for us to do so e.g. your filter status and a reminder it needs replacing soon;
    • We will use the data to send you relevant tips and alerts via the MyDyson app.

    We may share your data with third parties who support us by providing services to you. For example, usage data may be used by third-party affiliate companies in Dyson markets where repair and maintenance services are outsourced.

    Other Dyson devices


    Usage and performance data is collected by the machine while it’s running. This information stays on your machine and isn’t transferred back to Dyson. In the event that you have a problem or fault with your machine, Dyson will use this data to better identify a fix. Dyson can only access this data when we have physical access to the microchip in your machine. We may share your data with third parties who support us by providing services to you. For example, usage data may be used by third-party affiliate companies in Dyson markets where repair and maintenance services are outsourced.
