| Smart Purifiers |
The Dyson purifiers and purifier humidifiers monitor the air quality, humidity and temperature in their immediate surrounding.
With your consent, the product can continue to track air quality data even when the device is turned off. This feature is only activated if you provide explicit permission, ensuring you remain in full control over continuous monitoring.
Models equipped with the smart oscillation feature come with built-in camera. The camera is only activated with your explicit consent. Images are processed on the device and are never shared externally with third parties.
With your consent, the device may process the following data:

| Lighting |
Our lighting product uses Bluetooth® to connect to the MyDyson™ app.
The MyDyson™ app allows you to create lighting profiles that collects additional data such as your age and location. |
We use information about your age and location to determine the right colour and brightness for your eyes. |
| Robot vacuums |
Dyson robots require a connection to the MyDyson™ App in order to operate and deliver their intended features and functionalities. Dyson robots use their vision system using camera and sensors to navigate and create a map of your home. The camera and sensors on the machine collect information about the machine usage, floorplan, areas to clean and avoid, types and location of objects and obstacles.
Images from the camera are processed directly on your machine and are deleted after processing. These images never leave the machine, and Dyson does not have access at any time. |
Data from the robot is used to:
accurately create a floor plan and understand the layout, allowing the robot to navigate efficiently and clean every area thoroughly.
customise and adjust cleaning zones and avoid-clean areas, allowing greater control and flexibility over your cleaning preferences.
enable the robot to detect and avoid objects and obstacles such as furniture and cables, thereby reducing the risk of collisions or getting stuck.
optimise performance and efficiency and to keep you informed through the MyDyson™ app by displaying the areas the robot has cleaned. It also provides useful information such as floor plans and customisable settings for a tailored user experience. |
| Audio |
Dyson audio products use built-in microphones; they detect and monitor noise levels you have been exposed to by picking up surround sounds to allow users to cancel unwanted noise using advanced noise cancellation and ultra-low distortion technology.
Dyson Zone features additional sensors to detect and monitor your air quality exposure by capturing city pollution, including gas, allergens and particulate matter, and projects purified air to the user through a non-contact visor.
When you pair your audio product with the My Dyson app, if you have consented us to do so, we collect the following information:
Historical usage performance data, such as Air Quality (NO2) for Dyson Zone, internal and external noise exposure for audio products. |
Data from your product is used to:
- Provide insights on the level of noise pollution you have been exposed to;
- Provide insights on the level of air quality pollutants you have been exposed to;
- Help us to improve our products and your experience using the product;
- Send you tailored notifications if you have consented for us to do so e.g. your filter status and a reminder it needs replacing soon.
